Back on July 20th, the New York Times posted a piece about the difficulties that New York City's local stores, bars and restaurants are facing in this recession. While the article focuses mainly on Manhattan, it is certainly applicable to commercial streets in the other four boroughs, like Park Slope's 5th Avenue.
