Photos from the E-Waste Event

In case you missed it, Saturday's Electronic Waste Recycling event was a big success. A big thanks to the Lower East Side Ecology Center for managing the event and to Council Member Stephen Levin for funding it!

Below are some photos we took over the course of the day (it wasn't easy to take photos while carrying printers, computers and televisions). Fans of vintage electronic gear should definitely check the photos out. We collected some amazing pieces:

Help Opera on Tap Get Smashed

Our friends at Opera on Tap have always been great supporters of Fifth Avenue; providing singers and a little bit of dramatic flair for many of the Park Slope Fifth Avenue BID's outdoor events. Now, they need Park Slope's help to produce their first full production, called "Smashed":

Giving a new spin to the operatic mainstay of the strong leading lady, SMASHED is an absurdist take on the life of Carrie Nation, a radical turn-of-the-century teetotaler, who furthered her cause through vandalism –namely, attacking drinking establishments with a hatchet.
Their goal is to raise $15,000 by April 3rd.
