Doggie Fashion Show: Register Now!

Well, this is it! The last day of public school. That's pretty much the absolute official first day of summer because, for the next 9 or so weeks, the streets will run at a much slower, summer pace.

Don't fret, though, there are a lot of amazing events taking place at The Old Stone House and Washington Park and along Fifth Avenue. In fact, if you have children, don't miss the Puppetry Arts Festival of Brooklyn, taking place this Saturday at 4th Street and 5th Avenue.

South Slope Summer Strolls returns on July 18th between 12th and 18th Streets, featuring one of our favorite events of the year: Freddy's Bar's Doggie Fashion Show!

It's free to enter and there will be lots of prizes, music and special guests. Pre-register your pooch via email:

Then, on July 25th, don't miss round-2 of South Slope Summer Strolls, featuring a performance of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing by South Brooklyn Shakespeare, right in the middle of the Avenue between 17th and 18th Streets.

August? We've got you covered! North Slope Summer Strolls returns on August 15th and 22nd. Stay tuned for a fun summer on #theother5th !
