This Week: Sweeney Todd at The Old Stone House
Forget this weekend's rain! July 4th is coming and this week marks the start of another amazing summer of theater at The Old Stone House and Washington Park. Starting Thursday, July 2nd, Piper Theatre Productions will be presenting Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Don't miss it! Details below:
July 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18 @8pm
Set in 19th century England, Sweeney Todd is an unjustly exiled barber who returns to London with a new name seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him, ravaged his young wife and became warden to his daughter. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett’s luck sharply shifts when Todd helps her integrate an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up to indulge themselves. Todd’s revenge leads him tragically back to his wife and daughter and as he delivers justice to his enemies, he brings about his own bloody end.

Baba's Deli, An Oasis on #theother5th
Mario, Stepahnie, Chantal and Steven |
Baba's Deli is not just a deli! Sure, they serve made-to-order sandwiches, salads and fresh baked goods and they are all very good. But Baba's also has a beautiful outdoor seating area with a newly painted mural and a real live fountain! When I went to visit, there were a few people just sitting, enjoying their lunch in a shady spot and listening to the trickling of the water. You really could be transported to a vacation spot here.
Steven and Chantal have owned Baba's for 25 years! The deli evolved from an Indian store to what it is today, a family-friendly spot to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner and always enjoy a fresh cup of coffee.
Pop in and say congratulations to the team for their 25th Anniversary. Baba's also delivers but you don't want that! You want to enjoy that amazing outdoor space!

TONIGHT: Before you Sign Your Lease……Take this Class!
Tuesday June 16th 2015 6.30 - 8.30pm Old Stone House
While signing a commercial lease is one of the most important business decisions a small business owner will make, new businesses often fail to properly consider the risks under the belief that they are entering into a “form” agreement with the landlord. That “form” agreement, however, is almost always extremely favorable to the landlord when it is first presented to a commercial tenant. This course will offer some practical suggestions to ensure that your business interests are being well served and that you minimize the risk to you and your company. The course will be taught by an attorney who regularly counsels both landlords and tenants on lease agreements.
You will learn about:
● The risks in signing a blanket personal guarantee
● Understanding a “good-guy guarantee”
● Default provisions, attorney’s fee provisions and other issues to consider
