Way back in August of 2011 we posted about the spire of
St. Augustin Church swaying in the wind after being
damaged by Hurricane Irene. It was eventually secured "temporarily" with rope and there it sat until yesterday, March 11, 2014, when a crane finally rolled up to remove the spire and take it to a repair shop. Park Slope Fifth Avenue BID Board Member Erika Clark took pictures that you don't want to miss. It's not every day that an historic church has its spire removed for repairs.
We're looking forward to its return!
