Every year in August, our borough marks the Battle of Brooklyn, which took place on August 27, 1776. The battle was the first major conflict in the American Revolutionary War, after the United States declared itself to be an independent nation. Believe it or not, it was also the largest conflict in the entire war!
There will be lots of special events commemorating the Battle of Brooklyn in both Brooklyn and Manhattan, this year, including at The Old Stone House.
