Prospect Park Lake Clean-up

In 2009, Brooklyn resident Tami Johnson got tired of seeing trash in the Prospect Park Lake. So, she organized a group of 24 volunteers to use pedalboats to clean debris from trash islands inside the lake. They picked up nearly 400 pounds of trash!

The event was such a success, that they decided to do it again this year! Clean-up Day 2010 will take place on Saturday, September 25th, starting at 9:00 am. To learn more about the event or to volunteer, click here.
