Often, when you mention "Gowanus Canal" to Brooklynites, the reaction you get is "ewwww." That's perfectly understandable, but artist Miska Draskoczy may be able to change your mind with his gallery debut show,
Gowanus Wild.
The show is opening at the
Ground Floor Gallery (343 5th Street) tonight from 6-8:30 and will run in tandem with the Gowanus Open Studios Weekend (October 17 – 19). The exhibition celebrates the rapidly-evolving Gowanus landscape through Draskoczy’s sharp yet sensitive eye. It will conclude with a walking tour of the Gowanus sites captured in his art on Sunday, November 9, from 5 – 7pm. RSVP for the FREE walking tour at: krista@groundfloorbk.com.
