On Saturday, Jan. 21, the Park Slope Civic Council held a community meeting to discuss neighborhood slow zones, a community-based program from the city's Department of Transportation that reduces the speed limit to 20 mph within a select area and adds safety measures to change driver behavior and help improve safety.
If you are interested in the topic but you didn't get a chance to attend the meeting (it was basically the only snowy day of the winter), you can review meeting notes, a survey and more related documents on the topic at
parkslopeciviccouncil.org/slow-zones.
We have a feeling that this is not the last time we will hear about this proposal.
